Why long-distance walking?
My last name literally means “the traveller”. It was given to my grandfather when he arrived in Greece following the Asia Minor catastrophe of 1922. I definitely have the wanderlust gene, so when I am not travelling, I am meandering. Walking also clears my mind, burns calories and allows me to explore new places, discover spaces and observe people. Some of my most creative ideas come from walking on my own.
