66’: Yellow card. Leon Goretzka is too late for a challenge on Angelo Stiller.
64’: GOOOAAALLL! Leon Goretzka single-handedly breaks the game wide open with a quick steal and score. Poor pass from Alexander Nübel.
62’: Substitution. Kingsley Coman replaces Leroy Sané.
59’: Yellow card. Konrad Laimer is booked for a late challenge on Julian Chabot.
47’: Yellow card. Chris Führich is booked for a foul on Michael Olise.
46’: Here we go!
Halftime Observations
- Jamal Musiala and Leroy Sané both snuck behind the Stuttgart defense but failed to get a shot on goal. Luckily, Michael Olise buried his opportunity.
- Over the last four games (Leverkusen, Frankfurt, Celtic x2), Bayern has conceded more than 30% possession. The midfield is sitting deeper, drastically reducing the recovery time. The failure to close down Angelo Stiller in the final third cost gave Stuttgart an early lead.
- Stuttgart is flopping like a La Liga team. Jamie Leweling, Maximilian Mittelstädt, and Josha Vagnoman all took minimal contact (if any) and converted it into a Broadway play.
- If Alexander Nübel ever comes back to Bayern, hopefully that mustache stays in Stuttgart.
HT: Bayern tied 1-1 at the break.
45’: GOOOAAALLL! Michael Olise bails out Bayern with a clean 1v1 finish. After a lengthy VAR review, the goal is confirmed.
42’: Yellow. Julian Chabot takes down Leroy Sané just outside the box.
38’: Yellow card. Finn Jeltsch is booked for a sloppy slide tackle on Alphonso Davies.
34’: Goal, Stuttgart. Former Bayern product Angelo Stiller with a fantastic shot from outside the box.
31’: Deniz Undav hits the post…a lucky break for Manuel Neuer.
26’: Leroy Sané wastes breakaway opportunity.
22’: Jamal Musiala misses the 1v1 opportunity against Bayern loanee Alexander Nübel.
1’: LET’S GOOOOOOOOOO!!!
With Aleksandar Pavlović and Sacha Boey both out with illnesses, João Palhinha is back in the starting lineup. The hero of the Celtic game, Alphonso Davies, appears to be back at 100% as well.
In October, Bayern Munich obliterated Stuttgart with a second half hat trick from Harry Kane. In 2025, Bayern has grinded out Bundesliga results (7W-1D-0L) while Stuttgart has floundered (4 points in the last 5 games). For the first time all season, Bayern will be starting the match without Joshua Kimmich. Luckily, Aleksandar Pavlović and Leon Goretzka are both healthy and available.
Odds: Bayern (-154), Draw (+310), Stuttgart (+400)
Prediction: Bayern wins 4-0 (again!). Jamal Musiala absolutely dominates the first half with two goals. In the 60th minute, Stuttgart finally overcommits and Musiala finishes off the hat trick (his second of the season) by dribbling around a helpless goalkeeper. Thomas Müller replaces him and orchestrates a beautiful setup that results in a tap-in for Harry Kane.
It’s Bayern time.
