American diplomats are meeting their Ukrainian counterparts to discuss measures to halt the Ukraine war, holding discussions on various topics like mineral deal and also a possible resumption of US military aid to Ukraine.

While talks began in Jeddah, Ukrainian drones smashed into high-rise apartment blocks on the outskirts of Moscow in the early hours of Tuesday, with both sides saying it was the largest attack on the Russian capital of the three-year conflict.
“We are ready to do everything to achieve peace,” Ukrainian presidency chief of staff Andriy Yermak was quoted as saying by news agency AFP.
Following the argument between US President Donald Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart Zelenskyy before reporters in the White House earlier this month, Washington has suspended military aid to Ukraine as well as intelligence sharing and access to satellite imagery in a bid to force it to the negotiating table.
The Ukrainian President was in Jeddah to meet Saudi rulers but left the talks to three top aides.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Trump’s national security advisor Mike Waltz said that the aid suspension is “something I hope we can resolve” in the talks.
Rubio refuted claims that the United States had not cut off intelligence for defensive operations.
Ukraine will give the United States a plan on Tuesday for a limited ceasefire with Russia, news agencies said.
Meanwhile, military chiefs from 30 European and NATO countries willing to contribute to security guarantees for Ukraine after any negotiated truce with Russia will be meeting in Paris.
The Paris meeting of military chiefs of staff from 30 European and NATO nations — including the United Kingdom and Turkey — will happen that same day, the French military has said.
President Emmanuel Macron is to address the meeting, which he has said is being held in tight coordination with NATO military command.
Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer have been leading efforts to form a so-called “coalition of the willing” to enforce an eventual ceasefire in Ukraine.
