Ahead of the Parliament Winter Session, PM Modi today slammed the Opposition and said it tries to disrupt the proceedings of the House.

The Opposition is attempting to control the Parliament House by disruptions, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Monday, ahead of the commencement of the Parliament session.
Speaking to the media, the Prime Minister, referring to the Congress, also said that those who have been continuously rejected by the people are the ones who do not allow discussions to take place in the Parliament.
“Some people who have been rejected by the people are constantly trying to control the Parliament through hooliganism by a handful of people. The people of the country count all their actions and when the time comes, they also punish them,” PM Modi said today.
“But the most painful thing is that the new parliamentarians bring new ideas, new energy and they do not belong to any one party but to all parties. Some people usurp their rights and they do not even get the opportunity to speak in the House,” he added.
“But those who have been continuously rejected by the people 80-90 times do not allow discussions to take place in the Parliament. They neither respect the spirit of democracy nor do they understand the importance of people’s aspirations. They have no responsibility towards them, they are unable to understand them and the result is that they never live up to the expectations of the people,” the Prime Minister said.
Speaking further, PM Modi said, “The voters of India are dedicated to democracy, their dedication to the Constitution, their faith in the parliamentary working system, all of us sitting in the Parliament will have to live up to the sentiments of the people and this is the need of the hour.”
“The only way to make up for it is that we should highlight various aspects of every subject in a very healthy manner in the House, the coming generations will also get inspiration from it. I hope that this session will be very fruitful. I once again invite all the respected MPs to take this session forward with zeal and enthusiasm,” he said.
“The public has to reject them (Opposition) again and again. Some of the Opposition members behave very responsibly. They also wish that work should be done smoothly in the House. But those who have been continuously rejected by the public, ignore the words of their colleagues, disrespect their feelings and disrespect the feelings of democracy,” the Prime Minister said.
“Today, the world is looking at India with great hope. Our use of the Parliament’s time and our behaviour in the House should be such that it strengthens the respect that India has gained at the global level,” he added.
At the beginning of his address, PM Modi said, “The last phase of 2024 is underway and the country is preparing for 2025. This session of Parliament is special in several ways and the most important thing is the beginning of the 75th year of the Constitution.”
“Tomorrow, in the Samvidhan Sadan, everyone will celebrate the 75th year of our Constitution,” the Prime Minister said.
The session will continue until December 20 and will witness discussions on various issues, including the Waqf Act (Amendment) Bill.
BILLS LIKELY TO BE DISCUSSED IN PARLIAMENT SESSION
Among other bills listed for introduction, consideration and passing, include the Mussalman Wakf (Repeal) Bill, the Bharatiya Vayuyan Vidheyak, the Disaster Management (Amendment) Bill, the Readjustment of Representation of Scheduled Tribes in Assembly Constituencies of the State of Goa Bill, the Bills of Lading Bill, the Carriage of Goods by Sea Bill, the Railways (Amendment) Bill, the Banking Laws (Amendment) Bill, and the Oilfields (Regulation and Development) Amendment Bill.
The Boilers Bill, the Rashtriya Sahkari Vishwavidyalaya Bill, the Punjab Courts (Amendment) Bill, the Merchant Shipping Bill, the Coastal Shipping Bill, and the Indian Ports Bill, are also included in the list.
Earlier, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju asserted that the union government is “ready to discuss any topic” while calling for a peaceful session of Parliament.
Speaking to reporters on Sunday after the all-party meeting ahead of the session on November 24, Rijiju said several topics were raised requesting discussion in Parliament.
