Apple is facing a tough time bringing new AI abilities to the market but the company seems to have planned something big in the health space. New report this week claims Apple will redevelop its health ecosystem and power it using an AI assistant for its users.

The report via Bloomberg claims the company is already working on the health project codenamed Mulberry and it plans to overhaul the existing Health app and offer it as a health coach. It could be part of the iOS 19 version but the update is not expected before mid-2026 when we usually see the version .4 roll out in the market.

AI Health For Apple: How It Might Work

The report says Apple will rely on data from the Apple Watch, iPhone and other devices. It will use ML to train the AI model that can be customised based on needs and health patterns of the person. The company also plans to offer video content via health experts and important subjects that are likely to be part of the health AI ecosystem.

AI Health Doctor: Can Apple Pull It Off?

Apple and AI have not been a happy marriage so far and you can see the development around Siri and its delay that tells you where the company stands as of today. It is good to see Apple focus on health as its next AI frontier with products like the Apple Watch at the forefront. We have heard rumours about AirPods with camera in the plans, and that could be a viable product too.

But going by its recent AI history we are not sure how to take this news because AI at this level will unlikely come for free and putting a fee on these high-end services will demand accurate and effective results.

Apple knows that the data to train its AI model will need expert inputs, their insight, focus on your nutrition and cardiology and Bloomberg suggests it plans to do all of these and more. The company will be busy making iOS 18.4 update work across countries, including India where the Apple AI is finally getting support in the local English language.
