Tech wrap this week: iPhone 16E, Vivo V50 and more


The technology sector has witnessed some significant developments this week. While Apple launched the highly anticipated iPhone 16E in India, e-commerce firm Zepto partnered with DailyObjects to offer instant delivery of tech accessories across several major cities.

Apple iPhone 16E

Apple unveiled iPhone 16E on February 19, offering premium features to a wider audience. Priced at 59,900 for the base variant, the device features an A18 chip and also marks the debut of the C1 chip– the company’s in-house 5G modem. The iPhone 16E will be available in two colour options – matte black and white. The device will be available from February 28 with pre-orders beginning on February 21.

Vivo V50

The V50 series was launched in the Indian market on February 17. It comes with a 6.77-inch AMOLED display offering a 120Hz refresh rate. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset ensures a smooth experience of gaming and multi-tasking. Vivo V50 is equipped with a triple-camera set-up featuring a 50MP primary lens with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS).

Thomson 43-inch QLED TV with JioTele OS

Thomson has unveiled its 43-inch QLED TV, set to go on sale on February 21 on Flipkart. It is the first television in India to feature the JioTele operating system. This technology is specially designed to provide AI-driven recommendations for content across 10 OTT apps and 300+ live channels. Priced at 18,999, the QLED TV uses an Amlogic processor equipped with 2GB RAM and 8GB internal storage.

Apple expands manufacturing in India

Every model of the iPhone 16 series will now be assembled in India by the contract manufacturers. A section of those products will also be exported to selected countries. Apple made the announcement after unveiling the latest iPhone 16E. The 15 series follows the same home-grown policy.

Zepto partners with DailyObjects

Expect your tech accessories to be delivered by Zepto in just ten minutes. The quick-commerce platform has collaborated with DailyObjects. Thanks to the partnership, Zepto will now offer various products, including wireless power banks, charging docks, fast chargers, cables, phone cases, and tech organizers through its delivery network across India.

HP Victus 15

HP launched the Victus 15 laptop in Indian market, featuring the AMD Ryzen 9 Hawkpoint 8945HS processor. Designed to deliver cutting-edge gaming performance, the latest model promises exceptional speed, efficiency, and adaptive intelligence. Offered at a starting price of ₹1,12,990, the laptop is available on Amazon in Atmosphere Blue.

OPPO Find N5

OPPO unveiled the highly anticipated Find N5 foldable smartphone, which measures just 4.21mm when unfolded. It is the slimmest book-style foldable phone on the market, measuring 8.93mm when folded. Priced at around $1,800 (or approximately ₹1,60,000), the India launch of the device is still unknown. N5 also features the world’s first IPX6, IPX8, and IPX9 water resistance ratings for a foldable model.

Realme P3 series

Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer Realme launched its P3 series 5G smartphones in the Indian market. It features two models: Realme P3 Pro and P3x 5G smartphones. The P3 Pro model is available in a price range of 23,999 and 26,999 in three colour options: Nebula Glow, Galaxy Purple and Saturn Brown. P3x is available at starting price of 13,999 in Midnight Blue, Lunar Silver and Stellar Pink.
