Stock market today: As indicated by GIFT NIFTY futures, the domestic equity benchmark indices opened with decent gains on Friday, November 22.
At 9:33 AM, the S&P BSE SENSEX was trading at 77,704.85 levels, up 549 points, or 0.71%, while the NSE’s NIFTY50 index was trading at 23,523.75, up 174 points, or 0.74%.
The market breadth was in favour of bulls as out of 2,894 stocks traded on the BSE, 2,135 advanced, 642 declined and 117 remained unchanged.
Among individual stocks, Protean eGov Technologies tanked 10% to ₹1666 on the BSE as NSE Investments is set to divest up to 20.31% of its stake in Mumbai-based e-governance solutions provider through an offer for sale (OFS).
The OFS will consist of a base issue of 10.16% equity, with a greenshoe option for an additional 10.16% equity. As per the statement, the floor price for the issue is set at ₹1,550 per share.
The NSE Investments statement added that the share sale will open on November 22 for non-retail investors and on November 25 for retail investors.
Adani Group companies, too, recovered in the trade after a sharp fall in yesterday’s trade.
Sector Watch
Barring utilities, consumer durables and services, all the sectorak indices on the BSE were trading in the green. Realty stocks were the top gainers.
The BSE Realty index was trading at 7,743.20, up 112 points, or 1.47%.
Broader Market
The BSE MidCap index was trading at 44,567.44 levels, up 99 points, or 0.22% while the BSE SmallCap index was trading 56 points, or 0.11% higher at 52,197.01.
