Samsung has announced the expansion of its Galaxy AI features to a wider range of devices through the One UI 7 beta program. The new update aims to deliver a more natural and seamless mobile AI experience for Galaxy users. As announced by the company, the beta program will be available for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 in India, Korea, the U.K., and the U.S. starting March 6, with additional devices including the Galaxy S23 series, Tab S10 series, and A55 joining later in the month.
Users can sign up for the beta program through the Samsung Members app, with the official One UI 7 update expected to roll out in April. One UI 7 introduces advanced AI agents with multimodal capabilities, enhancing the interface to provide a more intuitive and interactive mobile experience.
Samsung One UI 7 features
Samsung’s One UI 7 update introduces enhanced security features through the Knox Matrix system, offering a more transparent and user-friendly way to manage security across connected devices. The update includes a new Knox Matrix dashboard, allowing users to quickly check the security status of their Galaxy mobile devices, smart TVs, and home appliances. Devices marked ‘green’ are secure, while at-risk devices trigger alerts with actionable recommendations to fix potential threats.
One UI 7 also simplifies data recovery with its Enhanced Data Protection feature. Users who lose access to a trusted device can securely transfer data stored on Samsung Cloud to a new device by verifying the lock screen method (pin, pattern, or password) of the old device.
The update introduces passkey login for Samsung Accounts, providing a more secure and convenient authentication option. The Maximum Restrictions feature now offers additional network controls, including blocking 2G services and avoiding auto-reconnection to less secure Wi-Fi networks.
To combat malicious apps, One UI 7’s Safe Install feature works with Auto Blocker to warn users about downloads from untrusted sources. The update also brings exclusive security features to Galaxy devices, adding to the Android suite of theft protection tools. The new Identity Check feature provides an extra layer of security if a device’s PIN is compromised, complementing existing tools like Theft Detection Lock, Offline Device Lock, and Remote Lock.
