Barcelona lost 1-0 to Real Sociedad on Sunday with one particular aspect of the match reportedly enough to “drive Hansi Flick crazy.”
It wasn’t the controversial decision to disallow Robert Lewandowski’s goal, but the way Barcelona started both halves of the game, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The report says the German coach is not at all happy with the way his team started the game “cold” and gave up chances.
A desperate challenge from Marc Casado was needed at the start of the game to deny Real Sociedad an early opener, while Sheraldo Becker had a chance straight after half-time.
The accusation is that the Barca players went into the game with a “moral superiority” – perhaps expecting to win – which is said to be “something that drives the German coach crazy” and his staff are well aware of his annoyance.
No doubt this is something that Flick is going to make his players well aware of and will want to see stamped out when Barca return to action after the international break.
