Ram told the cyber cell that Samay Raina should have edited the abusive language used in the show, sources told NDTV. He also confessed that he regretted using abusive language when he appeared as a panellist in the show.
The ‘Roadies’ fame told authorities that he went with the flow and used swear words but did not intend to hurt anyone’s sentiments, sources added. He was among the 50 people who have been summoned to record the statements. Mumbai Police have also questioned eight people, including Mukhija, Chanchalani, Allahbadia’s manager and the video editor of India’s Got Latent.
In an Instagram post today, Ram said he did not regret being a part of India’s Got Latent. He said that he wished the show hadn’t included some jokes, but added that he is nobody to tell Samay Raina or the makers which jokes to keep.
“Comedians push boundaries, call out society and speak truth to power while entertaining. But no comedian sets out to hurt sentiments. And they would be the first to apologise if they did. I do hope society maintains a proper perspective on the scale of this issue compared to others that need more outrage,” he said.
