Parliament Winter Session LIVE: BJP Rajya Sabha MP Vijaypal Singh Tomar stated that fellow MP Pratap Sarangi had been seriously injured and an MRI had been conducted but reports were not out yet.

He also strongly condemned Rahul Gandhi for allegedly pushing the senior leader and said, “Since the country received its Independence, we have not seen such a behaviour from the Lok Sabha LoP. This is hooliganism.”

Parliament Winter Session LIVE: NCP-SP leader Rohit Pawar told condemned the attack on Congress’ office in Azad Maidan, Mumbai and called for the home minister and police to take action.

“It is wrong to vandalise the office of the other parties. They vandalised the office today, they will vandalise someone’s home tomorrow… The people in power will think that they can go to anyone’s home and loot things. If action is not taken within two days then common people and party workers will register protest,” he said.

Parliament Winter Session LIVE: In a post on X, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said that the BJP had launched a “pre-planned conspiracy” in order to divert attention from union home minister Amit Shah’s statements on Babasaheb Ambedkar.

He stated, “Fresh facts have come to light that the BJP MPs also attacked our women MP’s while we were holding a peaceful protest at Makar Dwar. In a systematic conspiracy, BJP workers ransacked the offices of (INC) Mumbai and Kolkata respectively, which was later foiled by our committed Congress workers.”

“The fact that BJP MPs were sent carrying sticks with placards in the Parliament to obstruct INDIA’s peaceful protest was nothing but a carefully choreographed conspiracy to deflect attention. Every Indian who believes in social justice and an egalitarian society will unitedly fight against BJP’s oppressive tyranny and Manuvadi mindset!” he added.

Parliament Winter Session LIVE: Congress MLC Bhai Jagtap told news agency PTI that the BJP Yuva Morcha’s alleged vandalism of the Congress office in Azad Maidan, Mumbai, was planned.

“Nehru ji, Indira ji, Rajiv ji and Sardar Patel ji sat in that office. So, it is a historic office, but the way they have behaved shows that power has gone in their mind. If you look at it, how 60-100 people can simple barge into the Congress office? If you see, the police is just nearby, the police commissioner’s office is just nearby… I am sure that this was a planned attack and I condemn it strongly,” he said.

Parliament Winter Session LIVE: Union law minister Arjun Ram Meghwal said that this was the first time he had seen such an incident in the history of parliament, referring to the scuffle between Congress and BJP MPs.

“Pratap Sarangi is a person with Gandhian thoughts and works with tribals, and Mukesh Rajput is a very innocent man and MP…NDA MPs were agitated after you (Congress) misconstrued Home Minister Amit Shah’s statements,” he said.

Parliament Winter Session LIVE: RML MS Dr Ajay Shukla has said that both Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput suffered head injuries.

He also said, “Sarangi ji is an elderly person, and when there is pushing and shoving the BP could shoot up. This could lead to a heart arrest or stroke. Sarangi ji had been a cardiac patient. We are evaluating the situation.”

Parliament Winter Session LIVE: After meeting BJP MP Pratap Sarangi who was admitted to the RML Hospital after a scuffle in parliament, union minister BL Verma said, “The LoP Rahul Gandhi has blotted the temple of democracy.”

He also added that MP Sarangi was currently in the ICU and under treatment.

He said, ” Rahul Gandhi went ahead with his MPs and pushed BJP MPs following that Mukesh Rajput and Pratap Sarangi fell. Both of them are admitted to the hospital. Further, there was a tribal woman MP from Nagaland, Rahul Gandhi misbehaved with her. She has filed a complaint with the Rajya Sabha Chairman. Does he deserve to be LoP in Lok Sabha?”.

Parliament Winter Session LIVE: Defence minister Rajnath Singh visited two BJP MPs who were injured during a scuffle in parliament and expressed his disappointment that such an incident had happened in a democracy.

He also gave an update on the two BJP MPs health saying, “Pratap Sarangi has two stitches on his head and Mukesh Rajput also has a head injury. Both are stable. Doctors say that they will have to remain hospitalized for 2 or more days.”

Parliament Winter Session LIVE: Defence minister Rajnath Singh arrived on Thursday at Delhi’s RML Hospital to inquire about the health of the two injured BJP MPs – Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput.

The two MPs were injured during a scuffle outside parliament between Congress and BJP MPs.

Parliament Winter Session LIVE: Union minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan addressed the press and stated that Rahul Gandhi and the Congress must apologise for assaulting a woman and an elderly MP during a commotion in parliament earlier today.

They also added that the violence could not be justified and that BJP MPs did not block the Congress, rather it was Rahul Gandhi who ignored the rules and tried to move ahead without permission from the personnel stationed at the entrance.

Parliament Winter Session LIVE: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi told the press on Thursday that the commotion at the parliament was caused by BJP MPs who allegedly blocked a peaceful protest by Congress MPs.

“We walked towards parliament and the entrance was blocked by BJP MPs armed with sticks,” he said. He added that the whole scuffle was a means to distract people from the comments made on Ambedkar and the issue of the Adani group.

Parliament Winter Session LIVE: BJP MP Anurag Thakur filed a complaint against Congress leader Raul Gandhi for physical assault and incitement, alleging that Gandhi refused to take the designated path to enter Parliament leading to the commotion.

“When security forces asked Rahul Gandhi and other INDI bloc MPs to take a designated path to enter Parliament, he expressed his anger and did not take that designated path. He started walking towards where NDA MPs were protesting,” the MP said.
