Barcelona president Joan Laporta has spoken of the club’s relief after the CSD confirmed on Thursday that Dani Olmo and Pau Victor can continue to play for the Catalans.
The two players will remain registered which is great news for Barca. La Liga has already confirmed plans to appeal the decision in news that will surprise absolutely no-one.
Laporta has already blasted Javier Tebas and Co. over the saga and has now spoke defiantly once again about the whole process.
“Of course we were worried. That news came out yesterday before the match, and it wasn’t a coincidence,” he said via Mundo Deportivo.
“We already know how this goes. For me, it’s an attempt to destabilize the team. When this news comes out, the players and the coach get worried, and it could destabilize us.
“Fortunately, the players remained strong and understood what was going on, that nothing was going to happen because the registrations of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor were carried out correctly, and we followed all the federation and LaLiga requirements,”
“We know they can’t beat us on the field; they try to do it in the offices, but that’s not going to affect us.”
Olmo and Victor will now hope to finish a difficult season on a high. Barcelona remain in contention on all three fronts going into the final months of the season and take on Betis next in La Liga.
