Nothing has taken the wraps off its latest smartphone series, the Phone 3(a) and Phone 3(a) Pro, at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona. The announcement comes a day ahead of the official launch event.
The London-based tech brand had been teasing the upcoming smartphones for a while, building anticipation among fans. At MWC 2025, Nothing’s co-founder and newly-appointed India President, Akis Evangelidis, presented both devices at the Qualcomm booth, offering a first glimpse of what’s in store.
While the official unveiling provided some key insights, the devices were displayed within a glass enclosure, preventing hands-on experience. However, it has been confirmed that the smartphones will be fully introduced on March 4, during the second day of the tech expo.
The Nothing Phone 3(a) builds upon the foundation laid by its predecessor, the Phone 2a, with a more prominent camera module, enhancing its visual appeal. Meanwhile, the Phone 3(a) Pro adopts a bolder, asymmetrical camera layout that is expected to divide opinions, staying true to Nothing’s signature unconventional design philosophy.
Under the hood, both devices will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, marking a shift from the MediaTek processor used in last year’s Phone 2a.
One of the standout upgrades is the introduction of a Periscope Telephoto sensor on the Phone 3(a) Pro, making it the first Nothing smartphone to feature such a lens. This addition enables 3x optical zoom, 6x in-sensor zoom, and an impressive 60x “ultra zoom.”
Apart from this, the company has teased a new feature known as Essential Space, which will serve as a ‘second memory’ for users, leveraging artificial intelligence. Additionally, rumours suggest the possibility of a dedicated camera button, enhancing the photography experience.
Both the Nothing Phone 3(a) and 3(a) Pro will launch simultaneously in India alongside other global markets. Other details about the pricing and availability will be revealed at the launch event.
