A video is going viral on social media in which a customer was seen confronting a staff member for calling his wife “beautiful.” The incident took place in Kansas city where a customer got upset after a Popeyes worker complimented his wife.
In the video, the customer seemingly took offence at the word “beautiful”. He then demanded an explanation from the worker, turning the polite gesture into a heated argument.
“Why would you say that?” the customer can be heard saying while the other employee tries to stay calm the situation.
The customer can also be seen arguing, and at one point says, “This is not India,” sparking a debate online.
How Internet Reacted
Many social media users believed that the compliment was harmless and the man’s reaction was unnecessary. “Dude said ‘this is not India’ while doing the most conservative Indian thing,” one social media user said.
“He thinks he’s entitled to taunt food service people over a harmless compliment. That’s not entitlement that’s deep level insecurity,” another user added.
Another user, @govind_singh84, commented, “Bruh that was probably like the nicest thing she heard all day and you made it fed up. Go back to where you came from.”
