Nintendo Switch 2 rumours and speculations
As fans eagerly wait for Nintendo to launch Switch 2, let’s take a look at some of the rumours and speculations that worked towards building up the excitement among gamers in recent times. Some of the rumours suggest that the Switch 2 will feature major upgrades over its predecessor. These might include an 8.4-inch OLED display. A larger display was confirmed in the teaser released by Nintendo in January. The trailer also showed the introduction of magnetic Joy-Con controllers. It also indicated what everyone had naturally assumed, a sleeker build compared to the original Switch.
Mystery of the “C” button to be revealed
One of the key aspects of the mystery around the Switch 2 is the functionality of a new button, the square-shaped “C” key. It will be located right below the Home button. The “C” button will be on the right Joy-Con. Besides divulging hardware- and software-related details, Nintendo is also expected to announce the price and the release date for Nintendo Switch 2. Speculations also suggest that pre-orders for the Switch 2 will commence right after the April 2 Nintendo Direct. Rumours also suggest that Nintendo might also reveal some new games for the Switch 2 during the highly anticipated stream.
Switch 2 games: What we know so far
In its Direct broadcast in late March, Nintendo had announced the introduction of a Virtual Cards feature. Later, gaming enthusiasts noted something striking on the official page of the Virtual Game Cards. A footnote on the web page mentioned “Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games”. The fine print confirmed what had been a mere speculation for a long time, suggesting that remastered versions of select last-gen games will be introduced for Switch 2, besides exclusive titles. “Compatible systems must be linked to a Nintendo Account to use virtual game cards. Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive games and Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games can only be loaded on a Nintendo Switch 2 system,” the fine print reads.
