New Mahindra SUV Spotted In India! » MotorOctane

Mahindra showcased the Global Pik Up concept in 2023, confirming the launch of a pickup truck from the brand as a global product. A couple of test mules were spotted in Manali, Himachal Pradesh, a single cab version and a double cab version. The front section looked very similar to the outgoing Scorpio N. There is very little demand in India for pickup trucks, so Mahindra plans to export this truck to South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, etc.

The test mule that was spotted looks different from the concept version showcased back in 2023. However, it does look good with the Scorpio N front end, with the LED Headlamps and similar alloy wheels. Mahindra may swap out the LED tail lamp for a halogen setup to cut some costs. We suspect the Scorpio N pickup will get a leaf-spring suspension setup to accommodate a higher load-carrying capacity and to make it cost-effective. The Concept version of this pick-up truck had design cues, which made it look more stylish and rugged.

The pickup may borrow the 2.2-litre diesel engine from the existing lineup. This mHawk engine produces 175 bhp and 400 Nm of torque. It could be paired with a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed Torque converter AT. Being a lifestyle utility vehicle, Mahindra may offer an option to get All-wheel drive. The pickup truck may also get driving modes like Normal, Grass-Gravel-Snow, Mud-Ruts and Sand.
