The much-awaited Telugu crime thriller HIT: The Third Case (HIT 3), starring Natural Star Nani, is now streaming on the OTT platform Netflix in multiple languages. Directed by Sailesh Kolanu, the film features Srinidhi Shetty as the female lead.
However, the film’s OTT debut hasn’t gone entirely smoothly. A particular dialogue in the Tamil version has sparked controversy among Telugu audiences. Toward the climax, actor Karthi makes a powerful entrance, teasing his lead role in the upcoming HIT 4. In the Telugu version, he says, “Do you think I don’t know Telugu? I am bilingual.” The line plays well in context — direct and impactful.
But in the Tamil-dubbed version, the line includes the word “Golti,” a term that is widely considered derogatory towards Telugu-speaking people. This choice of wording has deeply offended many viewers, who are now voicing their anger on social media and questioning how such a slur was approved for release.
The issue has quickly gained traction online, with clips of the scene going viral. Director Sailesh Kolanu and his team are now facing intense criticism, and all eyes are on how they will respond to this backlash.
