Copilot is coming to Xbox for gamers that will help them in many ways.

Microsoft is bringing its AI assistant Copilot for gamer which enhances the Xbox experience. The new Copilot integration will offer in-game tutorials, assist players with tasks, and respond to natural language commands for installing or updating games, saving your time. It will also provide real-time progress updates. Initially, the feature will be available on smartphones, with Xbox Insiders gaining early access.

Fatima Kardar, Xbox Corporate Vice President of Gaming AI, stated that Copilot for Gaming is an AI-powered gaming assistant designed for gamers. It can help gamers set up games on their Xbox, recommend new titles, provide in-game assistance and form social connections. It would provide players with a personalised experience depending on their interests and habits.

With the upcoming update, gamers will be able to use natural language commands like, “I want to get back into Age of Empires, can you install it?” and the AI assistant will automatically begin downloading the game to their Xbox device.

According to reports, players can also request a summary of their in-game progress or ask the AI helper to check for updates. “It’s not just about AI turning up to assist you; it’s about AI showing up at the right moment. We really need to think about the experience we’ve generated; it cannot be intrusive,” said Kardar.

However, the company assures that gamers will have full control over their gameplay and how they interact with the AI assistant. The feature is entirely optional and will first roll out on mobile devices through the Xbox Insider Program before expanding to other platforms.

Meanwhile, Jason Ronald, Microsoft’s Vice President of Next Generation, revealed that over 1,000 games now support Xbox Play Anywhere, allowing players to seamlessly switch between their Xbox console and Windows PC without needing to repurchase titles.

Some of the games available on Xbox Play Anywhere include 15In1 Solitaire, 8-Bit Farm, A Memoir Blue, A Short Hike, ARK: Survival Evolved, Battletoads, Before We Leave, Coffee Talk, Coral Island, and more.

The debut of Copilot for Gaming marks a significant step towards integrating AI into gaming experiences. With this new addition, Microsoft aims to enhance player engagement and enjoyment by providing personalised assistance and seamless cross-device integration.
