PC Musthafa, the Bengaluru-based CEO of iD Fresh Food, shared a post on social media to demand “Justice for Mihir”, a 15-year-old student who tragically took his life due to severe ragging and bullying at school and on the school bus.
He also shared a heartfelt note, urging people to “stop ragging and bullying”. He revealed that Mihir, the teen who died by suicide, was his nephew and shared a touching picture of Mihir with his own son.
“Mihir was my nephew. He was my son’s best friend. He is no more. He was just 15. During his kindergarten days, he lived with us in Bengaluru. He was like a son to me,” PC Musthafa wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
“He was subjected to brutal ragging, bullying, and physical assault by a gang of students at his school and in the school bus,” he continued, sharing that the evidence the family uncovered paints a chilling picture of what Mihir went through.
“Mihir was beaten, verbally abused and forced to endure unimaginable humiliation even on his last day. He was forcibly taken to the washroom, made to lick a toilet seat and had his head pushed into the toilet while it was flushed,” he further said. Musthafa revealed that after this inhumane experience, the students mocked him by calling him “poppyhead”.
Mihir was bullied for his dark skin colour. “They didn’t end the cruelty even after his death. A shocking chat screenshot reveals the extent of their cruelty. They messaged: ‘F***, n****, he actually died,’ and celebrated his death. I couldn’t stop crying seeing those chat screenshots. Can someone do it to a 15-year-old child?” he went on to say.
Musthafa added that while “Mihir has left for a world where he will no longer face bullying or ragging,” his death should not go in vain.
Towards the end of his long social media post, Musthafa demanded justice for his nephew. “Those responsible for this barbaric act must face the full force of law, and systemic changes must be made to ensure no other child suffers like Mihir did,” Musthafa, 45, expressed.
“I have complete faith in the legal system and am confident that justice will prevail. I urge you to support this fight for justice and not just Mihir but for every child who dreams of a safe and supportive environment to learn and grow,” he concluded.
Kerala teen dies by suicide
Mihir Ahammed jumped from the 26th floor of his building after returning home from school on January 15. His mother claims he was “forced to lick toilet seats” and had his “head shoved into the toilet while it was flushed”.
An FIR has been filed at the Hill Palace Police Station in Thripunithura, and the mother has submitted a petition to the Child Commission, requesting an investigation into the harassment Ahammed suffered, including alleged mistreatment by the Vice Principal of his previous school, GEMS Kochi. He was a student at Global Public School in Thiruvaniyoor, Ernakulam.
