Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday ordered the arrest of executives from Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), and event management firm DNA Entertainment Networks in the aftermath of the tragic stampede during RCB‘s IPL victory celebrations.
The incident, which occurred outside Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on June 4, resulted in 11 fatalities and numerous injuries.
Simultaneously, the Chief Minister announced the immediate suspension of several top police officials, including Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda, Additional Commissioner of Police, Central Division Deputy Commissioner of Police, Assistant Commissioner of Police, and officers from Cubbon Park Police Station.
These suspensions come amid allegations of inadequate crowd control and safety measures during the event.
