India Pakistan news LIVE: MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated that Pakistan had a habit of declaring victory even after a defeat in response to the question about who called for a ceasefire.

Jaiswal stated that the Pakistani DGMO had called them to stop firing and not the other way around. He also clarified that the US had no role in brokering the peace agreement.

Further on the issue of Kashmir, he said, “Our long-standing position is that Kashmir issue has to be addressed bilaterally between India and Pakistan. That position has not changed.”

Pakistan news LIVE: Prime minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday stated that those who dare to challenge India, referring to Pakistan, will be destroyed.

In his speech at Adampur air base he said, “There is only one answer to those raising eyes towards India–destruction.” The PM reiterated India’s zero tolerance stance towards terrorism and lauded the armed forces for conducting Operation Sindoor.

“The ones who dared to challenge us faced the might of our soldiers. Nine terror hideouts were destroyed. Over 100 terrorists eliminated. Their leaders now understand–raising eyes towards India only invites ruin,” he said.

India Pakistan news LIVE: PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday took to X to urge all opposition parties to not criticise PM Modi and his government for exploring peaceful means to the end of the conflict with Pakistan.

“I appeal all the opposition parties to resist the urge for knee-jerk criticism or political point-scoring. Just as the Pahalgam incident united voices from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, there is need to build a national consensus around a peace process that safeguards national interests,” Mufti said in a post on X.

“The Modi government should not be politically penalised for exploring peaceful means. This is a time for bipartisan statesmanship, not division. The opposition must rise above politics and support genuine efforts for peace and stability,” Mufti added.
