Google Pixel 10 Leak Puts Huge Question Mark As Smartphone Heads Towards Launch

The smartphone war that most people globally watch with great glee and anticipation is the one between Apple, Samsung and Google. And ahead of Google Pixel 10 launch, there is a lot of interest in what this smartphone may be packing. Google Pixel 10 will initially be going against the iPhone 16 and Samsung Galaxy S25, but the real battle will be waged when the iPhone 17 is launched sometime in September 2025 and Samsung Galaxy S26 in January 2026. Google Pixel 10 launch date is in August.

One of the biggest battles in this war is being carried out in the chipset space. iPhone 17 will be launching with its latest A19 chip. However, the latest Google Pixel 10 leak suggests that Google may roll out a less enabled chip.

Earlier reports had revealed that Google was going for the latest and best chip. For that, it would not source processors based on Samsung’s 4nm process and go for TSMC’s 3nm process in its Tensor G5 chip.

The latest Google Pixel 10 leak suggests, the company may not be doing that. According to an X post on the subject by Chunvn8888, “Gonna stay the same, G5 is basically TSMC-made version of G4.”

If that were to actually happen, it would seriously affect the performance of the smartphone.

Chunvn8888 has added to the first post by saying, “The fact that G5 is expected to only support up to UFS 3.1 whereas the rest of the industry are moving to UFS 4.1 or NVME SSD alone is the reason I have 0 expectation for it.”

However, for all those eyeing the Google Pixel 10, a number of benchmark test sessions have not led to great results either.

However, having said that, Google has made some huge progress on the AI front and maybe it is looking to get enhanced performance from a chip process that may be a little dated.

All things said and done, Google still has 4 months to get its Google Pixel 10 house in order. Those looking to buy the smartphone should wait and watch before deciding. Pixels are known for their outstanding technological capabilities and enhancements for overall performance, camera, battery and more can definitely be expected for the upcoming smartphone.
