The Kabaddi World Cup 2025 is currently underway in England’s West Midlands region.
Being held across four cities – Birmingham, Coventry, Walsall and Wolverhampton – the KWC25 features two separate kabaddi tournaments, one for men and the other for women.
India are the defending champions in both categories, having won a double crown at the last edition of the Kabaddi World Cup held in Malaysia back in 2019.
Nine teams are competing for the men’s Kabaddi World Cup 2025 title. The sides have been split into two groups – A and B.
Men’s Kabaddi World Cup 2025 teams and groups
- Group A: Hungary, England, Poland, USA
- Group B: India, Italy, Scotland, Wales, Hong Kong China
This is the second Kabaddi World Cup being hosted by World Kabaddi. At the inaugural edition hosted by Malaysia in 2019, India won both the men’s and women’s crowns by defeating Iraq and Chinese Taipei in the respective finals.
The International Kabaddi Federation (IKF) hosts a separate tournament, also called the Kabaddi World Cup.
Interestingly, the 2025 edition in England will be the first-ever Kabaddi World Cup to be held outside Asia. All the IKF Kabaddi World Cups to date have been hosted in India.
