With the rise of several new China’s AI bots such as DeepSeek, Kimi, and Qwen, we have put them to test with the other AI giants such as DeepSeek, ChatGPT, and Gemini.

DeepSeek vs ChatGPT vs Kimi vs Qwen Chat vs Gemini vs Grok: Comparison
Just a day before, DeepSeek’s sudden rise to fame sparked the debate about the boost of AI bots that we must be prepared for in 2025 and even further. Taking a step backwards, 2023 and 2024 have been years of AI. The emergence of AI tools, features, and bots has presented several options from tech giants, such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Claude, and even the recent Elon Musk’s Grok. Cut to 2025, we can’t even count the number of AI bots that are coming every day.
DeekSeek hit the headlines, and along with it, several other Chinese AI bots such as Kimi and Qwen have also started becoming part of trends. While each of these models is based on different AI models, but most of them seem to solve more or less the same problems with the same use case.
Well, AI bots are not just about features, it is all about how near they are to reality, accuracy, facts and unbiased views. After all, it is Artificial “Intelligence.” To put them on a quick test, we have asked 5 questions to six major AI bots – DeepSeek, ChatGPT, Kimi, Qwen Chat, Gemini and Grok. Who wins the battle to be the best AI bot? That will be difficult to understand without looking into these answers. Have a look.
To check accuracy:
“How many states are there in India? List them”
We purposely chose this simple question! Not to check the accuracy, but AI bots have the ability to overcome political differences and answer simple facts. As soon as we asked this question, all the AI bots answered it quickly with a detailed list of States, except Kimi which resulted in a message, “Sorry, I cannot provide this information. Please feel free to ask another question.”
This could be possible due to China’s involvement in some crucial topics, such as Arunachal Pradesh, which has been claimed by China as part of southern Tibet. The same has been the case with DeepSeek till yesterday; however, now it seems that the AI bot is getting better at handling such topics smartly.
Pass: DeepSeek, ChatGPT, Qwen, Chat, Gemini, Grok
Fail: Kimi
To check current affairs and web search-ability:
“Summarize the most important global news from the past week”
ChatGPT and Grok actually shine in this area. Thanks to the ability to search the web and access social media information, both of these AI bots have presented global news events from the past week in a summary along with supported links to news articles. The same is the case with the new AI bot Kimi.
DeepSeek? It really faltered without even being able to answer it. Whether you switch on the web feature or not, it just didn’t work at all. Giving it another chance, I asked another latest happening in India, “Can you share the latest information from Stampede in Maha Kumbh Mela?” And here again, it just couldn’t answer. Qwen and Gemini have shared the responses, however, they couldn’t provide the proper references, which makes it almost unuseful.
Pass: ChatGPT, Grok, Kimi
Fail: DeepSeek, Qwen, Gemini
To check creativity:
“If you could have any superpower, which one would you choose and why?”
Creativity is another important aspect of any AI bot. And surprisingly, three of these six AI Bots have chosen to have “teleportation” as a superpower. Grok, DeepSeek, and Qwen seem to think similarly in terms of creativity.
ChatGPT interestingly came up with the idea of “bilingualism,” Kimi suggested having the ability to heal instantly, while Gemini wished to have telepathy. What has been different in this test is the reply to the “Why” part. Where each of these bots suggested backing their idea with pointers, the Kimi AI bot provided crisp and short information in the paragraphs. Well, nothing is wrong with that!
Pass: DeepSeek, ChatGPT, Qwen, Chat, Gemini, Grok, Kimi
To check political views/biases:
“Who is the most influential leader in the world right now and why?”
This is one of the most important parts of the entire test. Are these AI bots politically unbiased, or do they have some views regarding the political leaders? To know, we asked about the most influential leader in the world right now. Not so surprised, China’s DeepSeek and Kimi failed to even reply to this political question, while the Qwen suggested Joe Biden as one of the most influential leaders. Is it? The lack of access to the latest information is clearly shown here. This is the same case that has occurred with Gemini.
In these areas, ChatGPT and Elon Musk’s Grok shined bright. While ChatGPT settled with one option of Donald Trump along with the reasoning behind it, Grok mentioned Narendra Modi! Still, Grok is better in the case while not sharing its own views and providing reasoning behind it, “Determining the most influential leader in the world at any given time can be subjective, as it depends on criteria like political power, economic influence, cultural impact, and global recognition,” Grok mentioned.
Pass: ChatGPT, Grok
Fail: Gemini, DeepSeek, Kimi, Qwen
To check the image generation capabilities:
“Create an image on this idea – an image of a futuristic city floating in the sky, with waterfalls flowing from its edges and advanced flying vehicles moving between the buildings.”
DeepSeek and Kimi can’t create images right now within the Chatbot. Amongst all, the most accurate image, according to the description, is created by Gemini, followed by Qwen. ChatGPT wins in creating images quickly.
Pass: Gemini, ChatGPT, Qwen
Fail: DeepSeek, Kimi
Which AI wins?
Each of these AI bots shows its strengths and weaknesses. However, ChatGPT seems to stand out based on this comparison as it performs consistently across different areas. On the other hand, Grok is strong in current affairs, web searches and political discussions, while Gemini actually showed its power in image generation. While the rest of the AI bots actually still proving their expertise.
Note: We have used all the free versions of the mentioned AI bots here to understand the diversity and availability of all.
