HP has unveiled its most powerful gaming laptop ever, the Omen MAX 16, alongside Omen AI, a one-click AI-powered performance optimization tool, at CES 2025.
Omen MAX 16 is HP’s most powerful gaming laptop ever
The Omen MAX 16 brings unprecedented power to mobile gaming with its Intel Core Ultra 9 processor or AMD Ryzen AI 9 Mobile Processor options, coupled with NVIDIA’s latest Blackwell architecture GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs. The system supports up to 64GB of DDR5 RAM and introduces a new “Unleashed Mode” that gives users manual control over power settings.
The Omen MAX 16’s design includes a metal chassis available in Ceramic White or Shadow Black, with customizable RGB lighting options. With the MAX 16, HP has also introduced Ultra Low Latency Gen 3 technology, allowing seamless connection of up to three compatible HyperX peripherals through strategically placed antennas in the display hinge.
Starting at $1,699.99, the laptop features innovative cooling technology called Omen Cryo Compound, which combines liquid metal and metal grease for superior heat management. The system’s Tempest Cooling Pro architecture includes a self-cleaning Fan Cleaner feature that periodically reverses fan direction to prevent dust buildup.
Omen AI promises to optimise gaming performance with AI
The new Omen AI, available now in beta, addresses a common frustration among gamers who spend hours manually optimizing their gaming settings. The AI-powered software provides one-click optimization by analyzing individual gaming rigs and automatically adjusting OS, hardware, and game settings for optimal performance.
HP says that about 85% of gamers prioritise high frames per second, and the Omen AI helps in that by eliminating the guesswork behind the optimal performance. The tool currently supports Counter-Strike 2, with plans to expand to additional popular titles.
Additionally, HP unveiled the Omen 32x Smart Gaming Monitor, its first gaming monitor with built-in Google TV, priced at $749.99. The 4K UHD display features a 144Hz refresh rate and supports streaming from up to four platforms without additional hardware.
The company also expanded its gaming peripheral lineup with the new HyperX Pulsefire Saga mice family. The mice feature modular designs with interchangeable parts, offering up to 16 different combinations. The Pulsefire Saga Pro Wireless ($119.99) and standard Saga ($79.99) will be available in March.
