The email, allegedly from co-founder Carl Pei to Nothing employees, was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by reliable tipster Evan Blass. In it, Pei describes the Nothing Phone (3) as a milestone for the brand, stating, “[Nothing Phone (3)] will introduce breakthrough innovations in user interface, taking our first step toward our AI-powered platform.”
While most had expected to see the Nothing Phone (3) in 2024, the company expanded its linear smartphone portfolio last year with the launch of CMF Phone 1, Nothing Phone (2a) and the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus. With a lineup like that, it makes sense to bring a flagship in the market with a mid-ranger and a budget smartphone already there.
What to Expect from the Nothing Phone (3)
The Nothing Phone (3), unlike other flagships of 2025, is going to run on an older chipset — such as the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 or MediaTek Dimensity 9200+.
It’s expected to offer up to 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage and will run Nothing OS 3.0 based on Android 15 out of the box.
Design-wise, the smartphone could feature a 6.5-inch LTPO AMOLED display, an iPhone-like Action Button for customisable functions, and the brand’s signature Glyph Interface — LED strips that illuminate for calls, notifications, and more.
The battery on the smartphone is likely to be 5,000 mAh with support for 45W fast charging.
The Nothing Phone (3) is expected to be priced at around ₹50,000.
Reports also suggest Nothing will expand the Phone (3) series later this year with the Nothing Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Plus, both powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3.
Some leaks also hint at a Nothing Phone (3) Pro releasing alongside the Phone (3). However, the odds of that happening seem low at the moment.
