Four members of a family were found dead under mysterious circumstances in a rented house in RMV 2nd Stage, Bengaluru, within the limits of Sadashivanagar Police Station, said officials aware of the matter.

An initial probe into the case revealed that the victims, identified as Anup Kumar, aged 38, his wife Rakhi, aged 35, their 5-year-old daughter, and 2-year-old son, were natives of Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Shekhar H Tekkannavar said the incident came to light when the domestic help of the couple reported to work in the morning and saw the bodies in the rented house.

When the maid knocked on the door and received no response, she looked through the window and discovered the dead bodies. She immediately alerted the neighbours, who then informed the police.

The police said that Anup Kumar was working as a software consultant in a private firm in Bengaluru and was survived by his wife and two children.

The police suspect that the couple took the extreme step due to financial issues. However, no official declaration has been made concerning the case.

They added that the bodies were discovered in the house under unexplained circumstances. An investigation has been launched and further details are expected to be released as the case develops.
