Twenty-year-old Sudiksha Konanki remains missing in the popular Dominican Republic tourist town of Punta Cana, and now, a new footage claims to show her at a bar, before she disappeared earlier this month.
This comes hours after a sarong and flip-flops, believed to be those of Konanki, were discovered on a beach in the Dominican Republic, where she went missing.
In the newly-surfaced video, the University of Pittsburgh student could be seen with a group of friends, along with Joshua Riibe – the man identified as a “person of interest” in the case, as claimed by local outlet Noticia SIN.
The woman, as seen in the video, and as claimed to be Konanki by the outlet, could be seen putting her hand to her mouth and excusing herself to hunch over a patch of grass a few feet away.
Moments later, she could be seen walking back and jumping excitedly, before hugging one of her friends.
Meanwhile, a man wearing white clothes, believed to be Riibe, could be seen struggling outside the bar as another young man comforts him.
The man and Sudiksha appear to be wearing the same clothing they wore in previously released surveillance footage of them walking arm-in-arm less than two hours before she vanished.
Sudiksha Konanki went missing in the early hours of March 6, while she was on spring break in the Dominican Republic, leading to massive search operations, especially in the waters of a beach near the hotel where she stayed.
She was last seen on March 6 during a power outage at the Riu Republica Hotel in the beach resort town of Punta Cana.
Police say she disappeared at a beach by the hotel before dawn, as she and other guests had headed outside amid the power outage.
Her family says her belongings, including a phone and wallet, were left with her friends, although she’s known to always carry her phone.
Konanki and five other female students flew to the country on March 3.
