Typically, Apple saves the newest technology for its more costly iPhone models. However, in his Power On newsletter, Gurman claims that Apple will include a ProMotion display to the standard iPhone 17.
ProMotion essentially indicates that the display has a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Only the iPhone Pro and Pro Max models currently have a 120 Hz refresh rate, while the standard refresh rate used by Apple’s base and Plus iPhones is 60 Hz. While this is good news for users who don’t want to spend a fortune on Apple’s costly Pro or Pro Max versions, this feature is available in a great majority of Android smartphones, including those in the low-cost range.
