The final of the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League could take place at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on June 3, whereas Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium is expected to host a playoff match. The development was reported by Times of India on Tuesday (May 13) after BCCI announced the revised IPL 2025 schedule late on Monday night.
According to the revised schedule, the venues for the playoffs will be decided on a later date. The final of IPL 2025 will be played on June 3, and the two qualifiers are scheduled for May 29 and June 1, whereas the eliminator match will take place on May 30.
In the actual schedule, Kolkata’s Eden Gardens was scheduled to host the second qualifier on May 23 and the IPL 2025 final on May 25, whereas Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad was supposed to play host to the first qualifier on May 20 and the eliminator match on May 21.
IPL 2025 resume on May 17
The 2025 edition of the IPL, which was suspended for a week on May 9, is set to resume on May 17. In the revised schedule, a total of six cities – Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur and Lucknow – will host the remaining 13 league matches. Defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders will face Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the 58th league match of IPL 2025 on Saturday, May 17, at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, and on Sunday (May 17) afternoon, inaugural edition winners Rajasthan Royals will take on Punjab Kings at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur from 3:30 PM IST onwards.
Table-toppers Gujarat Titans will face Delhi Capitals at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on May 18 and then host Lucknow Super Giants at Narendra Modi Stadium on May 22 and Chennai Super Kings on May 25.
Mumbai Indians will be up against Delhi Capitals at Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday (May 21), and RCB’s last home match is against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Friday, May 23.
