Meghan Markle’s latest venture, With Love, Meghan, has been making headlines, but not all for the right reasons. The Netflix show, which premiered on Tuesday, has been slammed by critics as a “masterclass in cringe cooking.” However, despite the backlash, it has still managed to secure a spot in Netflix’s top 10.
The cooking show features the Duchess of Sussex making bath salts for her makeup artist, Daniel Martin, and preparing Korean fried chicken with chef Roy Choi. While With Love, Meghan received a lukewarm response initially, it gradually climbed to the 10th position on the streaming platform. Notably, according to FlixPatrol, the show entered the top 10 on its debut day in 47 countries, including Canada, Croatia, Ireland, Kenya and South Africa—marking an unexpected milestone amid harsh reviews.
Public relations expert Eric Schiffer, in his review of Meghan’s new show, told Newsweek, said, “The show is not a recipe to rebuild her reputation; in fact, it reinforces her as the Duchess of Flops and Ratings Disasters.” Further, he opined that Markle’s attempt to change herself as a “modern-day Martha Stewart” looks like an “out-of-touch elite desperation.”

Notably, With Love, Meghan holds significant importance for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, given their $100 million deal with Netflix. This marks their third collaboration with the streaming giant, following Heart of Invictus and Polo, both of which failed to impress audiences.
With its current ranking, there’s a possibility that the show might climb higher in the coming weeks, despite the mixed reception. Its performance will be closely watched as a key indicator of the couple’s success in the streaming space.
Notably, Polo, their previous collaboration, was released on the digital platform in December 2024. The series offered a behind-the-scenes look at the fast-paced and glamorous world of polo, with Meghan Markle taking the lead. However, it received a lackluster response. Similarly, Heart of Invictus also underperformed, failing to connect with audiences and earning a poor reception.
