With WWE Elimination Chamber an hour away, new backstage details have emerged about what’s going down behind the scenes in Toronto, courtesy of Fightful Select.
A number of SmackDown talent stuck around for tonight’s show, meaning fans could see some unexpected appearances. WWE also held a community event Friday morning, followed by a Fanatics signing event, where superstars were on hand for merchandise signings.
One of the biggest takeaways from the spoiler notes is the handling of the highly anticipated Cody Rhodes and The Rock segment. Unlike most major WWE moments, no producer has been assigned to oversee the interaction. Instead, Ed Koskey and Brian Parise have been listed as the writers responsible for crafting the exchange.
Internally, WWE has slotted the Cody/Rock segment for 15 minutes, making it one of the most crucial moments of the night. With The Rock pushing Cody to “give him his soul” and become his champion, all eyes will be on what Rhodes decides to do.
As always, WWE could make last-minute changes, but with SmackDown stars lingering and a major showdown planned between The Rock and Cody, this event is shaping up to be a must-watch.
