Samsung is planning for its first tri-fold device under the Galaxy series and we could see it launched earlier than we thought.

Samsung’s first tri-fold phone could adopt a new mechanism
Samsung is expected to unveil several foldable smartphones, including a tri-fold phone. The company even showed us a layout of the upcoming device at the recent Galaxy S25 series launch. And now rumours say the tri-fold model could get an earlier-than-expected launch this year which will surely excite people.
According to a report by South Korean news outlet ET News, the supply chain parts for the Samsung Galaxy G Fold have also been finalised, and the device may begin mass production in April this year. As a result, mass manufacturing suggests that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 will be released in July. Therefore, we may see the first tri-fold phone from Samsung at the next Galaxy Unpacked event.
The Huawei Mate XT and Galaxy G Fold will have quite different designs. First off, there are rumours that the smartphone would fold inward rather than in a Z shape like Huawei does. A 9.96-inch foldable primary display and a 6.49-inch cover display may be included in the smartphone. Because Mate XT is a little bit bigger, these measurements are very different.
Even with its unveiling, the Galaxy G Fold might not be available for purchase right away, and we anticipate that its supply will be as limited as that of the Galaxy Fold Special Edition. Therefore, we could still have to wait a few months after the debut to purchase the new line of foldable smartphones.
To keep the smartphone thin, Samsung might add S Pen compatibility in addition to the display measure. According to reports, Samsung has also eliminated some S Pen features for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 to make the smartphone thinner than its predecessor. Samsung might thus make many adjustments to compete in the expanding market for foldable smartphones.
