Confused which one to buy? Well currently the SUV segment is one of heavily competed and kind of same scenario will be witnessed in EV SUV segment too. Major automakers have already launched their futuristic models in the country, while some will reveal it at the auto expo. Said that, today let’s look at a detailed comparison between the new 4 EV SUVs in India.

Tata was the first in the pack as it launched the new Curvv EV followed by Mahindra BE 6, which was revealed in the last month of 2024. Apart from them, Maruti will be launching its new e-Vitara and Hyundai will be offering its popular name plate Creta with an EV powertrain.

Design

Both the Tata Curvv and Mahindra BE 6 get a coupe like design with a modern and futuristic approach. Maruti on the other hand offers its new e-Vitara with a modern but boxy design, while Hyundai Creta EV is identical to its ICE iteration in India. If you are someone who is looking for a new futuristic design, the Mahindra BE 6 and Tata Curvv might catch you with their longer structure and coupe design.

Powertrains

Comparing the powertrains, all the EV SUVs come with two battery pack options classified in lower trims and higher trims. Now, talking about the Curvv, it comes with a 45 kWh and 55 kWh battery pack and the motor churns out a maximum output of 165 bhp and 215 Nm torque. Mahindra stays ahead with its most powerful eSUV with 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery pack with a single motor producing maximum of 282 bhp and 380 Nm torque. Maruti is not far behind the game, it gets a 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery pack options with options of single and dual motors with AWD setup churning out maximum output of 184 bhp and 300 Nm torque. Now talking about the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV it gets battery packs of 42 kWh and 51.2 kWh with a single motor, power figures are not yet released by the brand.

Well it was all about powertrains, but what about range? Talking about the range, the Mahindra BE 6 gets the maximum out of the pack as it offers a maximum range of 682 km. Next up we have the Tata Curvv with a maximum range of 585 km. Maruti has not yet revealed about the range specification but it has promised to offer an 500 + range of eSUV. The last on the list is the Hyundai Creta, which offers a range of 473 km on a single charge.
