Shatrughan Sinha had once called out Mukesh Khanna for judging Sonakshi Sinha for forgetting details about Ramayan.

Mukesh Khanna had criticised Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter Sonakshi Sinha.
Sonakshi Sinha pulled up Mukesh Khanna for revisiting her goof-up about Ramayan on Kaun Banega Crorepati. For the unversed, Sonakshi had forgotten for whom did Lord Hanuman brought the “sanjeevani booti” and resorted to a lifeline. Time and again, Mukesh Khanna has commented about the goof up. While this time around, Sonakshi raised an objection over his comments, in 2020, Shatrughan Sinha had also slammed Mukesh for constantly commenting on her goof up.
Shatrughan did not name Mukesh but called him out by asking him who appointed him as the ‘guardian’ of the Hindu religion. Speaking with Bollywood Hungama, Shatrughan said, “I believe someone has problem with Sonakshi not answering a question on the Ramayan. Firstly what qualifies this person to be an expert on all things to do with the Ramayan? And who has appointed him the guardian of the Hindu religion?”
“I am very proud of all my three children. Sonakshi became a star on her own. I never had to launch her career. She is a daughter any father would be proud to have. Not answering a question on the Ramayan doesn’t disqualify Sonakshi from being a good Hindu. She doesn’t need a certificate of approval from anyone,” Shatrughan added.
Coincidentally, Shatrughan has incorporated elements of the Ramayan into his personal life. He has named his sons after the twins in the Ramayan — Luv and Kush. He has also named his house, Ramayan.
About Sonakshi Sinha Slamming Mukesh Khanna:
In a recent interview, Khanna blamed her father, veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha, for not imparting cultural knowledge, despite being a prominent figure in the entertainment industry. In response, Sonakshi shared her thoughts via Instagram stories, expressing her displeasure with Khanna’s remarks. “I recently read a statement you made saying that it’s my father’s fault I did not answer a question about the Ramayana correctly on a show I attended many, many years back,” she wrote. “Firstly, let me remind you there were two women on the hot seat that day who did not know the answer to the same question, but you choose to keep taking my name, and only my name, for reasons which are quite obvious.”
