Fans defended Shah Rukh Khan after Abhijeet Bhattacharya’s son penned a note on his father’s vocals being ignored.

Abhijeet is upset due to lack of credit.
Abhijeet Bhattacharya and his son Jay expressed disappointment after netizens failed to acknowledge him when Dua Lipa sang the iconic Levitating x Woh Ladki Jo mashup at her concert in Mumbai. The singer expressed that while everyone praised Shah Rukh Khan’s stardom for this feat, his voice was ignored. They even mentioned that Dua Lipa must have only heard the vocals and not seen the music video. Amid this, videos of Dua Lipa copying Shah Rukh Khan’s steps from the song have gone viral.
Shah Rukh Khan’s fans shared videos of Dua Lipa doing similar steps as Shah Rukh Khan did in the original song from the film Baadshah. Fans noted that while Abhijeet and Anu Malik should be credited for their vocals, Shah Rukh Khan’s superstardom should not be taken lightly. Check out the viral video on Reddit:
One person wrote, “While I agree that Anu Malik and Abhijit should be credited with the song, the song also belongs to SRK and the one who created this mix. It wouldn’t have reached Dua Lipa if it hadn’t been mashed with her song, and it wouldn’t have been remembered by her if she hadn’t known about SRK. Say what you may, but a lot of people do connect Bollywood to SRK, and this video just clears it up.”
Another person wrote on X, “Global phenomenon Shah Rukh Khan is just massive. One person wrote, “Omg #DuaLipa imitating #ShahRukhKhan
From Woh Ladki song got to be the best thing ever.” Another added, “We are living in SRK’s era.” One fan of the actor wrote, “SRK is just too big.”
For the unversed, after Dua’s performance, fans praised SRK’s star power, failing to acknowledge Abhijeet’s talent. This angered the musician and his son, Jay. Jay expressed his disappointment on his Instagram Story and wrote, “The problem is that no one talks about it. What happened to- Woh Ladki Jo- Abhijeet? Unfortunately, we live in a country where not one news outlet or Instagram page has mentioned the voice and the artists of this song. Why has it always been about actors in this country? I’m sure when @dualipa heard this song she must have heard it and not seen it and not appreciated the man that has sung this song and yes it is not SRK.”
He went on to add, “It is @abhijeetbhattacharya and @anumalikmusic. Im sorry but this song is called Woh Ladki Jo Sabse Alag Hai- Abhijeet wherever you search it. But somehow the media in this country never lets a singer get his due and then people ask me why don’t you try and sing for Bollywood.”
Abhijeet Bhattacharya also re-shared this message, disappointed by the lack of acknowledgement. Although Anu Malik did not share the same message, he shared a post that read, “Dua Lipa ke concert main bhi sabse zyada baat Anu Malik ke gaane ki ho rahi hai.”
Meanwhile, the Grammy-winning singer hosted her concert in Mumbai at the MMRDA BKC. Several prominent names were seen in the audience. These include Radhika Merchant, wife of Anant Ambani, and Isha Ambani’s husband, Anand Piramal. This marked Dua’s second performance in India. Her first was in 2019 at the OnePlus Music Festival in Navi Mumbai.
