Chitrangda Singh is Salman Khan’s leadingb lady in Battle Of Galwan.
Salman Khan, after Sikandar, will be next seen in the Battle of Galwan. The intense first look of the film, featuring a bloodied Salman, was unveiled last weekend. While details of the rest of the cast have been kept under wraps, it is now revealed that Chitrangda Singh has been roped in to play the female lead alongside the superstar, marking a fresh pairing altogether.
The film’s director, Apoorva Lakhia, has announced that Chitrangda will star opposite Salman Khan in the highly anticipated, Battle of Galwan. This war drama, based on actual events at the India-China border, marks the first collaboration between Salman and Chitrangda.
Apoorva Lakhia, known for his intense storytelling and gritty narratives, praised Chitrangda’s talent and screen presence, highlighting her as the perfect choice for the role. “I’ve always wanted to work with Chitrangda since seeing her outstanding performance in Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi and then Bob Biswas,” he said, adding, “We are delighted to welcome Chitrangda Singh to the cast of Battle of Galwan. She brings a unique combination of strength and sensitivity that will complement Salman Sir’s brooding yet quiet strength.”
Sources close to the production revealed that Lakhia was searching for someone who could convey resilience, vulnerability, and emotional depth with equal skill, qualities that Chitrangda exhibited effortlessly. He was particularly impressed by her photos taken at India Gate, where her natural poise and quiet grace perfectly captured the essence of the character. Her nuanced performance style and understated screen presence made her the ideal choice for the role.
Battle of Galwan draws from the real events of June 2020, when Indian and Chinese troops clashed in the remote, high-altitude Galwan Valley of Ladakh. Bound by standing agreements prohibiting gunfire, the confrontation turned into one of the deadliest border skirmishes in over forty years. Against daunting odds and extreme conditions, the Indian Army showed extraordinary courage, engaging in hand-to-hand combat with makeshift weapons like stones and sticks.
Battle of Galwan is shaping up to be one of the most awaited films of the year, not only for its compelling subject but also for its fresh casting choices. With Salman Khan leading the cast and Chitrangda Singh joining the ensemble, expectations are sky-high. The filming is set to begin later this year.
