Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Aminul Islam has stated that the BCCI has not yet confirmed whether India will tour Bangladesh this August. Earlier, in April, the BCB had announced the itinerary for India’s visit, which included three ODIs on August 17, 20, and 23, followed by T20Is on August 26, 29, and 31, with matches planned in Mirpur and Chattogram.According to Islam, the BCCI plans to decide only after consultations with the Indian government.“I have already spoken to the BCCI. The discussions have been positive,” Aminul told the media following the 19th board meeting held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Monday.“We are hopeful. The tour is scheduled [for next month], but they are awaiting some government approvals.”
He added that if India cannot travel in August, the BCCI has assured Bangladesh that the series will be played in the next available window, though no specific reason was given for the current uncertainty.“The talks are ongoing. If for any reason they can’t come in August, they will tour in the next window. We are still optimistic about this schedule. All I can say is that the BCCI has been professional and cooperative,” Aminul said.
