Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) has announced a scheduled power shutdown in several areas of Chennai tomorrow, June 25, to carry out essential maintenance work. The electricity supply will be suspended from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm in parts of Tambaram, Pallavaram, Adyar and Kotturpuram to facilitate the maintenance activities.

Areas to be Affected by Power Cut

According to the official notification, the following localities will experience temporary power disruption during the maintenance period:

In Tambaram (Chitlapakkam area), the affected streets include Aathi Nagar, Ananda Puram, Vinoba Nagar, Professor Colony, parts of 1st Main Road, Ramachandra Road, Ranganathan Street, Kannadasan Street and Ayyasamy Street.

The Adyar areas that will face power suspension comprise Mallipoo Nagar and 1st to 3rd Main Roads in Gandhi Nagar.

In Kotturpuram, the outage will impact Sri Nagar Colony, South Mada Street, West Mada Street, North Mada Street, South Avenue, Temple Avenue and Rangarajapuram 1st to 6th Streets.

Regular Maintenance for Better Power Supply

TANGEDCO conducts such maintenance work once every month across Tamil Nadu to replace faulty wires, repair damaged transformers and upgrade electrical infrastructure. These planned shutdowns help prevent unexpected power failures and ensure uninterrupted electricity supply.

Residents can check future power cut schedules in their areas through TANGEDCO’s official website at https://www.tnebltd.gov.in/outages/viewshutdown.xhtml. The portal provides updated information about daily and upcoming power outages across the state.
