Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road, Transport and Highways, on Wednesday announced a FASTag-based Annual Pass for commuters in India.
Having said that, this FASTag-based Annual Pass is priced at Rs 3,000. It will come into effect from 15th August 2025 and is meant for non-commercial private vehicles like cars, jeeps, and vans.
What’s Included in the Fastag Annual Pass?
- Price: Rs 3,000
- Validity: 1 year from activation date or up to 200 trips (whichever is earlier)
- Eligible Vehicles: Only private, non-commercial vehicles
- Coverage: All National Highways across India
Where to Activate the Pass
Drivers will soon be able to activate and renew the Annual Pass through a special link on the:
- Rajmarg Yatra App
- NHAI (National Highways Authority of India) website
- MoRTH (Ministry of Road Transport and Highways) website
Why This Pass Matters
- It reduces the need to stop and pay at toll plazas within 60 km ranges.
- It offers cost-effective and convenient highway travel.
- It helps avoid traffic jams and long queues at toll booths.
