Samantha Ruth Prabhu shared the stage with Amala Akkineni for the first time ever since her divorce from the latter’s son, Naga Chaitanya. The two ladies attended the Zee Telugu Awards ceremony recently.
In a promo that was shared online, Samantha was seen getting onto the stage in a yellow saree. She delivered an emotional speech as she thanked the Telugu audience for their love and support throughout her 15-year-long career in the film industry. Amala, who was also present on the stage at that moment, was visibly proud. She clapped for Samantha and was seen flaunting her smile.
Soon after the promo was shared online, it grabbed everyone’s attention. Reacting to it, one of the fans wrote, “Nagarjuna’s wife claps 😮.” Another added, “How Amala appreciates ❤.” “Amala was also at the event,” a third comment read.
When Did Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Naga Chaitanya Part Ways?
Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya dated for a few years before they tied the knot in 2017. However, the two announced their separation in October 2021 i.e. after four years of their marriage. Back then, they had issued a statement asking fans and followers for privacy as they ‘move on’.
Last year, Samantha recalled her separation from Naga Chaitanya in an interview. Even though Samantha did not name her former husband, she said that the year before her myositis treatment was “extremely difficult”.
“I remember specifically the year before I had this problem, it was an extremely difficult year for me. I specifically remember the day that I think my friend/partner/manager Himank, and I were traveling back from Mumbai. And this was in June of the year before last, and I remember telling him that finally I feel calm. I haven’t felt a little relaxed and a little calm in a very, very long time. And I finally feel like I can breathe and I can go to sleep, and I can now wake up and focus on my work and be the best that I can be at work. And I woke up with this condition,” Samantha said.
While Samantha is now rumoured to be dating director Raj Nidimoru, Chay is married to actress Sobhita Dhulipala.
