Real Madrid secure Huijsen signing -sources

Real Madrid have secured the signing of Spanish center-back Dean Huijsen after reaching an agreement with the player and deciding to pay the €58 million on his release clause with Bournemouth, club sources told Managing Madrid. This agreement was first reported by MARCA earlier this Wednesday.

Huijsen will be a Real Madrid player when the FIFA Club World Cup kicks off next month, so he will be ready to make his debut under soon-to-be coach Xabi Alonso. Huijsen turned 20 years old a month ago and is one of the most promising defenders in world football, that’s why Real Madrid ultimately decided to prioritize his signing.

The young defender received offers to join other Premier League clubs but chose to sign for Real Madrid. His presence in the center of the defensive line will increase Real Madrid’s ability to compete for trophies next season, given that established players like Alaba, Militao or Rudiger are still injured and will need to spend most of the pre-season working their way back into form.
