Player Ratings: Barcelona 3-2 Real Madrid; 2025 Copa del Rey Final

Full match player rating below:

Thibaut Courtois—4: A rare poor showing from the big Belgian. Needlessly came out on Ferran Torres’ late equalizer in the second half. Arguably could have done better on Kounde’s game-winner.

Lucas Vazquez—6: A few poor passes in transition when the team was on the attack in the first half. Some clumsy fouls on Raphinha but held his own for large stretches of the match which allowed Fede to play midfield from the start.

Raul Asencio—6: Never should have attempted the slide tackle on Raphinha inside the box and was fortunate to have VAR overturn the penalty kick.

Toni Rudiger—6: A wounded warrior who hobbled his way through the game. Lost his head in overtime on the bench and will likely see a lengthy ban.

Ferland Mendy—N/A: Came off with an injury within the first 10 minutes of the match.

Tchouameni—8.5: Colossal. His goal was a statement to the Madrid faithful that he has beaten the boos and is here to stay and bring trophies. Unfortunate not to come away with the game-winning goal.

Fede Valverde—8.5: As is so often the case, did a little bit of everything: sprints back to make a goal-denying tackle, long-range passes to start a counter track, and ball carrying sequences to break lines and move the team forward.

Dani Ceballos—5: Drew fouls and evaded pressure but still far from his best.

Jude Bellingham—8.5: Came alive in the second half and put in a monster performance as the team’s attacking midfielder. His subtle flicks, aerial wins, and 50/50 tackles in the offensive third were instrumental in turning the tide of the game.

Rodrygo—2: Awful performance — rightly substituted at half-time.

Vinicius Junior—5: Meant to be the man of the moment but missed too many big chances in a game of this magnitude. Needs to find his clinical touch again. A season to forget.

Substitutions:

Fran Garcia—7: The best version of Fran Garcia in a big match we have ever seen. Nervy in the first half but exploded in the second half.

Kylian Mbappe—8.5: Instant impact off the bench. Scored a brilliant free kick, which was won after Mbappe had broken free and De Jong was forced to pull him back outside the box. His speed in behind the Barca backline was a constant threat. Combined well with Bellingham.

Arda Guler—8: One of the first off the bench and took his opportunity with both hands. Whipped in the corner that Tchouameni scored from and was effective on both sides of the ball down the right flank.

Brahim Diaz—5: Involved in the breakdown between he and Modric on the Jules Kounde game-winner. Minutes later was needlessly offsides on an opportunity to level it up again.

Luka Modric—7: Modric and Arda helped turn the game in Madrid’s favor. His passing and control helped stabilize the midfield. Blemish will be the late pass to Brahim that was intercepted by Kounde and led to the game winner for Barcelona.

Endrick—3: Failed to make a positive impact and gave the ball away in dangerous spots on the pitch.
